Homecoming Week at MICC was a spectacular success this year, bringing together participants, staff, families, and the broader community in a week-long celebration of spirit, talent, and giving back. The week kicked off with Spirit Week, where participants and staff showcased their creativity and school spirit by dressing up according to daily themes. It was all about embracing their inner twins, settling the age-old Star Wars vs. Harry Potter vs. Star Trek debate, donning denim for Canadian Tuxedo day, rocking their favorite band tees, and, of course, showing off their MICC pride.

Friday morning was a special moment as MICC hosted the Champion's Breakfast, a gathering to celebrate the remarkable contributions of community champions. The event honored outstanding organizations such as Lunds & Byerlys and the History Theatre, who have been steadfast supporters of MICC's mission.
Individuals who have made a significant impact were also recognized, including Lisa Keitel, whose dedication and advocacy have touched many lives. Additionally, the breakfast celebrated the commitment of staff members reaching their 5-year milestone, as well as board members who have devoted 3 years to guiding MICC's mission, generous donors in Hatlen Leadership Circle, and the ultimate success for MICC: 10 and 20 years of independence within MICC's community.

The show was a showcase of diverse skills, from musical performances and soulful singing to engaging acting and heartwarming poetry recitations. The audience played a crucial role by providing unwavering support and applause for each performer, making it a night to remember.

6th Annual Independence 5K
Saturday morning brought the community together for a purpose – the 6th Annual MICC Independence 5K. The event was a resounding success, not only in promoting fitness and wellness but also in raising awareness and funds for neurodivergent individuals. The event managed to collect an impressive $12,355, bringing us closer to our goal of $15,000. Donations will continue to be accepted throughout the month, ensuring that MICC can continue empowering neurodivergent individuals in the community.
